Congratulations on Gemtree becoming comprehensive fire-rated board supplier for Modular Integrated Construction (MIC) .

Physical performances
Fibreglass
mesh makes Gemtreeboard fantastic in impact strength and bending
strength. Calcium silicate board can only use paper fiber or asbestos
for reinforcement because it can corrode fiberglass. All three types of
boards are inorganic and there is no much difference in thermal
conductivity and expansion.

Gemtreeboard
and high density calcium silicate are good in water resistance. The
fiber in low density calcium silicate board absorbs water which degrades
its strength. Plaster has no property of water resistance.

Gypsum
board is not worthy of making deep processing because of its non-water
resistance. High density calcium silicate board is heavy but low
density calcium silicate board is easily deformed. Gemtreeboard is more
valuable for deep processing because of its flatness and high strength.
Evaluation
Fixing & Cutting
Pneumatic nailing or utility knife is not possible.
Can use nail, screws and pneumatic nailing . Can use utility knife or saw for cuttings.
Bad
Excellent
Pneumatic nailing is not possible.
Normal
Gemtreeboard
is manufactured at room temperature making this a low carbon
process.Heat, steam and pressure are used in the manufacture of calcium
silicate boards.
Low density board offers a nutrient to mold or fungus.
Combat the growth of mold and mildew.

Good
A nutrient to mold or fungus.

Strength
Gemtreeboard
is reinforced by fiberglass mesh and can be high strength but light
weight. Calcium silicate board is reinforced by short fiber and must be
high density to be strong.

Impact strength
Calcium
silicate board is high dense and easy to break and self-tapping screw
is a must. Gemtreeboard can use nail, screws and nail gun.

Data
Low density calcium board will deform when in water or wet.
Physically stable if dried after 100 days' in water.
Good
Excellent
Not water resistant and deteriorate if exposing to water.
Bad
Gypsum board begins charring at temperature 200℃.
The data of Gemtreeboard is based on its standard mgo board and not those of low quality mgo boards flooded the market.
Low density calcium silicate board is easily deformed, whilst high density one is brittle.
Fiberglass mesh balanced laying inside makes the board keeping its flatness all the time.
