WARNING TO ALL: Not All MgO Board Products Are The Same (Reproduced)

 

 

After recent events I feel for the benefit of the global members it is my responsibility to make a quick return to the forum to appeal to you all to please be more than ever vigilant and careful when sourcing or buying any MgO board or flooring products.

 

ALL MGO PRODUCTS ARE NOT THE SAME. YOU MAY NOT WISH TO BELIEVE ME - BUT AT LEAST LISTEN BEFORE YOU BUY JUST ANY OLD BOARD.

 

With the massive love affair for everything MgO around the world increasing, the reality of the products strength and weaknesses has been lost and the number of get rich quick fix trading houses has dramatically increased to the point you will have no idea at all what you are buying or whom you are buying the products from......

 

From MgO Corp's perspective the quantity of unchecked, non compliant, non certified and non tested magnesium oxide board entering the global markets has become a major concern and as the director of MgO Corp I am extremely concerned for the consumers safety and protection.

 

This has what has promoted me to speak up and hopefully the world will listen:

Here inAustraliamy office is continually fielding calls from people to assist them with information on how to apply and install a random MgO Board they have brought at an auction clearance house or from a wholesale outlet that has not given them any support or information on the product they have just purchased........

 

"The consumer is just told"

 

Yes it is Fireproof, Non Toxic and will do the same as all other MgO Boards.

This is far from the truth - NOT ALL MgO Board Products Perform the Same or are made from the correct or same high quality materials.

 

If it is not tested by a registered NATA approved company and or audited and certified under JAS/ANZ CodeMark.

 

You are risking not only your project but potentially your families health and safety.

 

A couple of true examples: "you make the final decisions after the facts are tabled"

 

1: I was recently inAmericaat meeting with MgO CorpAmericaand several of our customers. During one meetings we where requested to assist a government social housing development in South America in which over 3000 NEW SIP HOMES have to be bulldozed to the ground due to the toxic mould and shocking state of the Hybrid Mixed Fake MgO Board wall linings that were applied over below grade cheap EPS that was being eaten by the ants and also rotting from the moisture and humidity.

 

The building system was sold to the government by an establishedUSAcompany and the building materials came directly out ofChinacarrying the approvals and warranties of theUSAbased companies designs and engineering.

 

MgO Corp was asked to give our professional advice on the MgO used and to table with our partners Innova Eco Building Systems (MgO Corp America) a rescue eco environmental solution which is 100% backed up by our own companies extensive testing and certifications at all times.

 

2: A client emailed through to my offices an approach from a purported MgO Manufacturing company that had some very interesting products they wanted us to investigate for them. I personally sort confirmation of the companies ISO, CE and ASTM Testing before proceeding further of which they sent to me very promptly.

These certificates looked very impressive and I forwarded these to MgO Corp Asia's business development manager seeking his inspection of the authenticity of the reports and company.

 

THE REPLY WAS: BOSS they are all fake certificates and the company does not exist as a manufacturer it is a fake trading company.

 

My manager (Alex) then laughed and said - BOSS - You don't read Chinese so you can not see the immediate mistakes they have made on the fake forms. So don't feel bad BOSS many people get caught even very big companies.......

 

3: Are you safe with some of the so called larger MgO companies around the world that show you they have certifications in place that they got under ASTM in say 2010 - mmmmmmm - NO - YOU MAY ASK WHY - As I recently found out on investigating several groups for our customers I was surprised (not shocked) to see two (2) of these very well known companies have in the last 12mths alone used at least 6 different fabrication companies to make their brand of boards that they are then selling into the market place as approved for specific application under a test report that was carried out on a product that was made years earlier by a completely different MgO company ....... Should you just assume the product they are selling you will perform the same ......... or would you prefer to have the assurances of them consistently using the exactly same fabrication company that supplied the original tested products?

AGAIN I AM NOT SURPRISED - BUT SHOCKED AT JUST WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE BECAUSE I HAVE OVER THE YEARS RESPECT SEVERAL OF THESE ORGANSATIONS.

 

I can only assume that the price of they have supply and quality issues with their past supplies or they want to buy cheaper from somewhere else.

THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR PRICE - OVER - QUALITY:: YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.....

 

4: We all know you can go direct toChinaand buy MgO Board without the professional services of a compliant, audited and certified company.

 

Again the reality is at least 8 out of 10 times you will think you are dealing direct with the fabricator / manufacturer when in reality you're being filtered through a trading company and a great picture has been painted that you will not see.

 

There are to many commissions paid hand to hand and unless you speak mandarin the road is long.

 

5: Now the Big Situations That Got Me Back to The Forum:

Victoria has the highest fire regulations inAustraliafor building and construction. Therefore several wholesale clearance companies in Melbourne have decided to capitalise on this by brining in the cheapest MgO board they can buy to flood the Victorian markets because people want to protect their properties and families as best they can.

 

Amazing they are selling products to unsuspecting people well below what it costs to even make a high quality approved and tested product at the factory without even allowing for the duties, taxes, shipping and transport just to get the product on the shelf to the consumer.

 

These products have: No warranty, No test certificates or BCA compliances. What happens when things go wrong - What happens if someone looses their life - Because they thought it was the same???

 

Frankly by then it is all to late!!!!

 

Before sending this message I sort deep if I should speak up and I also spoke in confidence to several leading authorities to how they felt I should handle the above to hopefully protect the consumer and also protect the MgO Companies that are doing their best to make sure that there products and services are of the highest standards possible by being transparent, reliable and audited at all times.
